The Teatro Titano, one of the best testimonies of the San Marino architecture in 19th century, has been restored in the 80s preserving an historic structure very important for the life of the Capital and of the Republic.
The theatre matches different needs from the cultural and organizational point of view; elegant and comfortable boxes developed on two floors make up for the small stalls and a wide gallery is located on the top floor. It has a total capacity of 260 seats.
The precious decorative elements of the ceiling reproduce interesting symbols of the San Marino history and life. The curtain of the 19th century by the San Mairno painter Pietro Tonnini represents the mythological subject of Parnassus and depicts Apollo surrounded by the Muses and the Graces. The painting, commissioned by the Economic Congregation in 1846, in accordance with the Theatrical Congregation, was realized following a quick and ductile technique, the tempera, with admirable freshness and mastery. Today the Teatro Titano is used for international events, prose, music, meetings, but also traditional celebrations and institutional events. The elegant liberty hall is suitable for reception, exhibitions, secretariat and various kinds of cultural animation.
